Group projects

Here are some of the group projects I helped work on in my ad classes at university. These range from slide decks to fully fleshed-out brand audits.

Project 1: LSpark

My Role: Copywriter

For this project, I worked in a team of four to create an ad campaign for a real-world client and pitch it to them. Our client was Lingro Learning, a B2B language learning company, planning on breaking into the B2C market with a new program called LSpark. I was responsible for the tagline and the general concept of the campaign. I also edited together a short promotional video, which is linked in the campaign book.

Project 2: Hydroflask

For this assignment, we got to pick our own brand, but were encouraged to choose a niche audience that the brand wasn’t already targeting. We decided on Hydro Flask, a water bottle company, and parents with newly teenaged children. My duties were largely organizational, though I helped brainstorm the strategy as well.

My Role: Account Executive

Project 3: Ninkasi

My Role: General

For this project, rather than create an ad campaign, the four of us worked all term long to conduct a formal audit on our chosen brand: Ninkasi (a beer brand local to Eugene, Oregon). We held interviews with fans and employees, toured their facilities, and did extensive research to formulate recommendations to improve the Ninkasi brand. Formal roles were not assigned, and each of us ended up doing a little bit of everything.

Project 4: Ben & Jerry’s

My Role: Account Executive

The premise of this assignment was to advertise an American company to a foreign country. We decided on marketing Ben & Jerry’s, an ice cream brand, to Japan. I was once again, account executive, but I was also responsible for the overall strategy and designing the mobile game concept.
